Expat Advisors Community

Conducting research for my expat white paper I was referred to numerous experts and specialists working in and around global mobility. I wanted a way to maintain contact and keep up to date with these connections, and so the Expat Advisors Community was created as a platform for those professionals working with international clients could come together regularly.

EAC- Kerry BrownMonthly discussion forums in Sydney are attended by between 10 and 20 professionals across international tax and legal, migration, banking and wealth, international trade, government, cultural and other consultants. We have also held our inaugural forum in Melbourne in October 2014 and March 2015.

Each attendee introduces themselves, positions their expertise and how they can help our clients, and share current projects or success stories. There has been amazing feedback on the calibre of the participants and the generosity of attendees in sharing their knowledge and insights. A key benefit is the ability to “issue spot” areas within client circumstances that may need attention, and to tap into the best of breed expertise.

Discussion topics have included the FATCA changes, Cap Gemini World Wealth report, cultural education, the different types of visa’s including distinguished talent, global relocation services, business succession, key attributes for a successful Asia Desk within a legal firm and business and family succession across generations.

Special guest speaker John Brogden, CEO of the Financial Services Council, shared his insights on the Australian Governments delegation to Australia Week In China (AWIC). This included an update on the development of the Asia Regional Funds Passport. We also promote relevant events such as Australia China Business Week (ACBW) conferences across Australia and China, the annual Asia Financial Forum in Hong Kong, and other workshops and relevant training. Ultimately this delivers superior service and time savings to our clients, through professional collaboration.
