Staying connected and making connections: Sydney Forum – Tuesday 5th January, 2016

Stacey Martin_Peter Black
Speaker: Peter Black, Executive Coach and TEC Chair

Attending the 2015 Invest in Australia mission to Hong Kong and Guangzhou in China, Peter Black’s objective as an Executive Coach and TEC Chair, was to learn more about this fast growing region.

Working with C-Suite executives across professional services, finance and IT as well as SME’s, Peter wanted to learn how to do business in Asia both for his own career and in appreciating the challenges faced by his business and executive clients.

In this discussion forum, Peter will share his learnings including:

  • Why you need to review your branding and have bi-lingual marketing material
  • What are the nuances of doing business across jurisdictions
  • How to stay connected and social media strategies.

You can check out Peter’s blogs from the 2015 mission here.

David Thomas, Think Global and mission leader for Australia’s AFF delegation, will provide an overview of the 2016 conference and activities to make the most of the opportunities on the ground.  This includes the Deal Flow Matchmaking Session where you can meet potential international business partners, flying the flag at the Invest in Australia stand, and how to connect with other attendees via the conference App.

Stacey Martin, founder of Expat Advisors Community and Strategic Connector will provide practical tips for conference networking from self-introductions, asking insightful questions, exiting gracefully and strategies for keeping in touch and building long term relationships.

Whether you are participating in this years Think Global delegation, considering the mission in your marketing plans for next year, or would like to be inspired to use networking for growing your business connections, this will be a valuable session to kick start the year.
