Our inaugural Expat Advisors Community in Perth on 6th July attracted a diverse group of professionals with international clients and business connections. From accountants specialising in QROPs, to relocation services, property consultants and even geologists who gave some terrific insights on innovation as well as what’s happening in WA.
Some key insights from the discussion included:
- 60% of our population are migrants, with around 300,000 arrivals pa. No one provider has a strategy to deliver end to end services
- previously migrants came to Australia for a better life, and that is likely still the case today
- Innovation is difficult to understand and commercialize
- importance of trust, building relationships and working together for mutual reward to achieve results.
Great session with much lively discussion, mutual business interests and likely many follow up coffees! I was also fortunate to re-connect with a number of local lawyers, migration agents, China consultants, WA trade and our NAB Agri team.
Were also privileged to attend event hosted by Wrays lawyers and hear Steve Baxter from Shark Tank share his journey and business insights which you can read about here.
Watch out for upcoming dates for the launch of Expat Advisors Community in Brisbane and Adelaide. In the meantime if you have anyone you think would be able to contribute to the group, please encourage them to sign up to our regular updates here.
