Sydney has been ranked the 10th best city in the world for the second year in a row, and number one in Australia.
The Mercer 2015 Quality of Living Survey analysed dozens of living standard factors including crime, health, water sanitation, climate, infrastructure, transport, political stability and ease of communication for 230 cities around the world.
Other Australian cities also ranked highly with Melbourne at 16th globally, Perth 22nd, Adelaide 27th, Canberra 30th and Brisbane at number 37. Meanwhile our trans-Tasman neighbors had Auckland ranked the 3rd best city in the world, while Wellington was number 12.
In Canada, Vancouver ranked number 5 with Toronto at 15, showing Canadians live well despite the cold. At 27, San Francisco was the highest in the US, while London in the UK was ranked 40th.
None of the cities in China made it into the top 100, with Shanghai at 101, Beijing at 118, Guangzhou at 121. No wonder there is such interest in gaining an immigration pathway to countries like Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the US.
