Australian Week in China 11th to 15th April 2016 – insights from the delegation

The second AWIC event orgainised by Austrade will see the largest ever Australian delegation participate in eight business streams across cities including Beijing, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Xiamen, Shenyang and Hangzhou and Shanghai.
Among the 1,000 attendees there will be a range of government ministers including the Prime Minister the Hon Malcolm Turnbull MP who will deliver the keynote at the lunch on Thursday in Shanghai, as well as the Hon Steven Ciobo MP, Minister for Trade and Investment.
The business streams include agribusiness, financial services, health and aged care, innovation, education, urban sustainability and water management, premium food and beverage and tourism.
Whilst there are many corporates attending, there are lots of small businesses looking at opportunities in China by seeing it for themselves, particularly in the food and consumer stream. On the innovation side, Stone and Chalk have 15 start-ups doing pitches during the week.
