The second Australia Week in China (AWIC) will be delivered across multiple cities during 11-15 April 2016. The inaugural business week was held in 2014, and John Brogden, then Chair of the Financial Services Council shared his insights with and Expat Advisors Community at the April 2014 event.
One of the largest business delegations to China, AWIC is led by the Minister for Trade and Investment, consisting of trade, investment, education and tourism promotion events designed to highlight commercial opportunities underpinned by the rise of an affluent middle class and the China Australia Free Trade Agreement (ChAFTA).
There are eight sector specific programs for Agribusiness, Financial Services, Health & Aged Care, Innovation, International Education, Premium Food & Beverage and Consumer, Tourism and Urban Sustainability and Water Management.
Shanghai on Wednesday focuses on Chinese wealth and asset management opportunities as well as infrastructure. The annual Australia-China Business Awards gala dinner will also be a highlight.
The streams come together on Thursday with the Hon Seven Ciobo MP and ACBC National President John Brumby, with business events, premium showcases, networking and the AWIC gala lunch.
There are 800 delegates registered for AWIC2016.
