If you want to do business in China, you should go at least once a year. There is no better opportunity than the upcoming China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT).
Now in its 20th year, the four-day event will be held from 8th to 11th September 2016 in Xiàmén (厦门). Considered the “Gold Coast” of China, Xiamen is in the coastal province of Fujian, across the waterway from Taiwan.
CIFIT is the world’s largest bi-lateral trade and investment conference expo, attracting around 40,000 Chinese delegates from government, state-owned and private enterprises and 15,000 delegates from around 40 other countries. It provides an incredible opportunity to see for yourself what’s happening in China, and the opportunities for Australia to leverage off China’s growth.
Sponsored by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce and six international organisations, including the World Trade Organisation and OECD, CIFIT was the initiative of Chinese President Xi Jinping, who was Vice Mayor of Xiamen at the time.
Chinese business tycoon Jack Ma, the founder of Alibaba Group, is one of the keynote speakers and will share his views on opportunities for western companies including Australia.
As well as trade and product exhibitions, there will be industry-specific workshops and forums include the One Belt One Road initiative, global e-commerce, Asia Investment fund summit, and global mergers and acquisitions.
Business matchmaking events include talks on specific sectors, high-level business networking, and an ongoing online platform.
