A rainy Sydney day saw office workers scurrying to Cup Day events in their finery across the city and out to Randwick.
Hosts of the 4th Annual Melbourne Cup networking event, Stacey Martin from Expat Advisors Community, Liana Allan from Migration Alliance along with Jette Radley, Australian China Business Council, welcomed members and guests to “The Rook”, part of the Keystone Group of restaurants, centrally located in the CBD.
In this short address to around 70 guests ahead of the race, Liana acknowledged our multi-cultural history and what it is to be Australian. It was also an historic day for diversity with Michelle Payne being the first female jockey to win the Melbourne Cup, riding outsider Prince Of Penzance to victory at Flemington.
Best dressed went to Jennifer Fong, migration agent with VisaCorp who was wearing a stunning Gucci outfit, and there were also some well dressed men among the crowd!
We welcomed a number of venture capital managers, along with migration agents, a strong contingency of lawyers, tax experts and china marketing and cultural consultants, including Winnie Hadad, China connector from Hopgoodganim in Perth.

Special thanks to Nell, Chiara, Rebecca and especially the barmen at The Rook who kept the drinks flowing throughout the afternoon.
